Northside Funders Group, invites DP, Brian Few Jr to the Artist Roundtable

Without a doubt the most renown artist to emerge from North Minneapolis was PRINCE, who grew up on the Northside and had his first solo performance at the Capri Theater on West Broadway. The Northside connection to the arts has not diminished, but has only grown stronger and deeper as more and more artists call North Minneapolis home. Whether they be born and bred, transplants from other cities, or transfers from other neighborhoods, North Minneapolis has a ‘flavor’ and ‘vibe’ that draws on the talents of aspiring, emerging and established artists alike, creating a community of creativity, exploration, activation, and revolution. We sat down with three Northsiders committed to their art and their place.

#NorthsideStoryville was created to “challenge and change the narrative we have all been told about the Northside by exposing all aspects of the people, places and spaces that make North Minneapolis.”
