Acarpin serves 61 children and adolescents from across Colombia, primarily located in municipalities of Antioquia and the various districts of Medellín. However, the ongoing conflict has led to the referral of children from many rural areas of the country, resulting in a nationwide impact. The vulnerability of our children has led us to specialize specifically in restoring their rights in cases of social problems such as abandonment, neglect, mistreatment, threats, and sexual and psychological abuse. Our children range in age from 7 to 18 and receive support from a team of professionals who guide their development through a pedagogy of affection, enabling them to envision themselves within society with a dignified future in the short, medium, and long term.
The program supports children's psycho-emotional development by providing therapeutic spaces through individual and group interventions. It also involves accompanying children through their daily activities and promoting activities that improve social skills and the constructive use of free time. Furthermore, the training is geared towards providing essential pre-employment skills for the future.
